Candidates are sought for the following offices:

Nominations or declarations of candidacy must be received in the SCTA office by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, 2008.  All persons seeking election must also submit a candidate's statement and picture (optional) for inclusion in The Direct Line.  Statements must list teaching experience and Association experience and may include a statement of 100 words or less.  Pictures should be black and white (color does not reproduce well) and may not be larger than 3 1/2" by 5 1/2".  Pictures and statements must be received in the SCTA office no later than Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in order to appear in an SCTA publication.

State Council Representatives and Alternates

SCTA currently has six (6) representatives to the California Teachers Association State Council.  This year there are two (2) Council seats open.  According to CTA policy, Council members shall be elected by the entire membership.  Council members must be members of the Association.  SCTA State Council members vote according to Association direction whenever given and report to the SCTA Representative Council and Board of Directors as required.
